He started his banking career as Class One Officer in Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) in 1982. He worked important positions like Manager,Regional Audit Officer, Chief Regional Manager, Divisional Audit Officer, AGM of Personnel and Loan Recovery Department of Head Office. He hails from a respectable Muslim family of Comilla district.
